A Royal Omission
I forgot to mention that sometime during the summer of 1978, I visited the UK with my family, specifically and only to London. On our last day there, we had gone downtown (or further downtown) to do a last bit of site-seeing before continuing on with the rest of our trip (yes, first time for me out of the United States and it was a round-the-world trip to visit my aunt and uncle and cousins in Malaysia).
Well, at some point, we noticed that roads were being closed off, so we started walking back to our hotel to pick up our luggage. We came to a corner and stopped. Off to our right was a high stone wall on the left side of the road. Out of that high stone wall soon emerged some ornate carriages....but....nobody was in them. And then.....out of that same wall came a long black limousine with a glass roof.
That limousine came toward us, and passed around in the corner in front of us. Sitting inside were Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Princess Anne...along with some other royals I don't remember.
My dad captured it on his Kodak 8mm movie camera....and the film resides in the vast storage archives at an undisclosed location :).
So yeah, whoyaseenlately? That was a gross omission.
